Thank you for all that you are and the ideals and practical tips that you instilled in me—including laughter/humor, kindness and compassion for others, respect, discipline, diligence, and being chill (you never cared about my grades in school, in fact you made it a regular joke that my lowest grade is in Filipino, something I am not really proud of but in which I’m still trying to improve). You are not perfect but, to me, you gave a perfect love; one that spoils generously but still infused with the right dose of self-responsibility and accountability. As you know, many people learned biking by having someone hold the back of the bike, allowing him to pedal and learn how to maintain balance, without the fear or at least minimizing the fear of being thrown off. It wasn’t like that with me. No one was there to hold my bike so yes, there were several falls along the way! Lol! But it was so much fun! I would not change any part of it even if I had to do it again. That’s how we learn, right? We fall down, we get lost, we commit mistakes, yet, after all these ‘mishaps,’ we look into ourselves and realize, we are changed! We have good intentions but let’s not assume that others are going blindly and recklessly into a certain path. It’s better to assume that others have grown wiser from their long history of sufferings, too, and that they are seeking answers, too, in their own terms. Wish them well instead of questioning/doubting their decisions. (And this advice actually applies in many aspects of life, too, including politics. Of course, it will be selling local products, too (I’m not the owner but I’m trying to negotiate for consignment of local products hopefully “under my wing” in the future).
